ebay Lot 74-9.  These carved shell cameo are a true test of the artist's craftsmanship.  One can imagine them at their work  and being near-completion, only to get startled and break or damage it with the slip of the knife.  In the case with this cameo, however, no such horrible thing happened.  The cameo is likely as beautiful today as the day it was completed.  The detail is exquisite--not the best I have ever seen, but very nice.  The frame is made of gilded sterling silver by C.R.Co., as it is hall-marked.  There are some places where the gilding is wearing thin, but  that does not detract from its' beauty.  The brooch measures 1 1/2 by 1 1/8 inches oval.  It also has a loop for a necklace chain, so I have included a gold-tone chain to be worn with it is the buyer chooses--16 inches long.
All items, upon sale, are individually wrapped, packaged securely to avoid damage during shipping, then  shipped via USPS First Class mail.  Insurance is included in the shipping and handling fees. All vintage items will sustain a normal amount of wear, due to the passage of time--even an unused item can age  due to factors such as temperature, humidity, and handling.  Items listed as in great to excellent vintage condition will not necessarily look like new, and unless I state that an item is in pristine or mint condition, you will expect to see some indication that an item is not new. If I can tell that a repair has been made, I will tell you in the listing.  Do not expect complete perfection unless that is expressly stated.  Also, if you are bidding or planning to bid on more than one item to take advantage of the great savings in shipping costs, you will need to contact me to let me know.  I am happy to combine shipping separate lots, but I am not a mind reader, nor is it easy to tell, unless the bidding is ended, whether a buyer is involved in more than one bid, unless they are winning. I will allow a limit of up to 14 days as a cutoff for combining lots, to help you save money on shipping charges as well as to help me save money on packaging and materials.  I am striving towards a goal of excellence in customer service, and I just ask that you help me make that possible.  I will do my best.
