Originally, "GI" teddy bears were designed and made in 1946 by Bavarian toy maker Hugo Koch from U.S. Army blankets as a way to say thank you to the U.S. troops who helped save his company at the end of WWII.  His granddaughter is now producing the replicas which are being sold today.  This listing is a replica.
