Lafayette Escadrille Edwin Charles Parsons Ace Fighter Pilot Autograph Letter

Edwin Charles Parsons [1892 1968] was a original confirmed member of the Lafayette Escadrille who began his military career in 1915 when he went to France and served with the American Ambulance Service. In 1916 Parsons enlisted in the French Foreign Legion and in January of 1917 he joined the Lafayette Escadrille. Parsons served with Escadrille Squadrons N.124 & SPA.3 and ended the war with [8] eight confirmed aerial victories and was awarded the Legion d'Honneur, the Medaille militaire, and the Croix de guerre for his war service. Interesting to note only 38 Americans are confirmed to have flown with this legendary unit for the entirety of its existence while many have claimed to have flown with the unit. Listed for auction is a [ALS] autographed letter signed by Edwin C. Parsons on his personal letterhead dated 1/26/63. The letter is addressed to a noted aviation collector/historian and is signed ''Best Parsons'' in blue pen. The letter measures 5.50 x 3.50 inches and is in fine condition. The autograph is authentic and the letter will be a desirable addition to any military collection.
