This NEW and IMPROVED design outperforms other cookers hands down! It heats water 40% faster than other panel or box cookers. Haines conducted side-by-side tests over four days comparing the Haines 2.0 Cooker with the original Haines Cooker, the Haines-Copenhagen, and the popular “CooKit.” Significantly, the new Haines 2.0 reached 212ºF (100ºC) every day of testing, despite clouds, wind or cool temperatures that caused the other cookers sometimes to “top out” between 180ºF (82ºC) and 198ºF (92ºC). Perfect for camping, boating, emergency preparedness or keeping the heat out of the kitchen on a hot day. The Haines Solar Cooker is affordable and very portable. Weighing just 13 oz. It cooks like an oven up to 210-325ºF but solar-cooked food almost never burns. It is healthy because cooking at a low temperature preserves nutrients. Potatoes and vegetables cook without water. It saves electricity and gas and will pasteurize water.
The Cooker 2.0 Kit includes:
REFLECTOR -- Made from the same MPET (metalized polyester foam) material used for previous Haines solar cookers. The MPET material has the right combination of flexibility and stiffness to hold its shape, even in breezy conditions. Cooking surface remains solidly in place while the four “petals” of the reflector move around it for High or Low sun. The sides of the reflector are “double angle,” which greatly increases its cooking power.
COOKING SLEEVE -- Insulates the cooking pot, eliminating cooking bags.
CIRCULAR WINDSCREEN -- Creates “oven-like” conditions around the pot. In windy conditions, the windscreen may be a valuable addition to the Haines 2.0 cooker.
Dutch Oven
--
4 ½ quart round pot, 11-inch diameter at the top, 4 ½ inches deep, black on the outside and a top rim with no handles. A perfect complement to the cooker while offering the best cooking efficiency, The silicone rim is perfect for solar cooking, and its stainless steel body is safe and durable. The glass lid makes cooking visible and insulates better than metal lid. The silicone rim protects the glass, and will not degrade in the sun. A pot used for solar cooking must be BLACK on the outside to absorb the sun’s heat.
