    Description

This is a group of Antique Photos from the 1921 San Francisco Aerial Day / Aviator Lincoln Beachey Day and Salute to the mothers of aviators from the estate of Lillian Gatlin. Famous early aviator Lincoln Beachey and famous aviator Lillian Gatlin were very close. Beachey died in a crash over San Francisco Bay during the 1915 Pan Pacific Exposition . Gatlin continued in aviation and in 1922 flying with the US Airmail she became the first woman to fly across the United States.
These photos show many of the mothers ( including Beachey’s ) as well as famed WWI ace Eddie Rickenbacker standing behind Beachey’s mother in the smaller photo as well as in the cockpit of the airplane in a larger photo and the newspaper clipping when they flew to drop flowers over Beachey’s crash site. Includes all pieces shown including a rare Beachey Day letterhead paper.
The photos in the original frames are 8 x 10 inch...ALL are OLD original items...Overall a very historical aviation grouping...Buyer Pays Shipping
